We promised you something new for this 2020. We had it coming and we have something even newer for you (read: “Riccardo Grosso Blues Band is now rehearsaling original songs!”), but this is not the subject of this article.
You are a Blues lover and a Music lover, like us. You like people who work hard on their craft and squeeze out all the resources to deliver the best. Like us.
You can’t be ignored and your thirst for music is never satisfied. Like us. Like ours. And if you like to surf the web and listen to the music, we know you better like to listen to it in streaming and?for free. Right?
We couldn’t overlook that and we wanted you to have our music at the same time, so here it is a new album from Riccardo Grosso and his renewed Riccardo Grosso Blues Band.
Seravezza Blues Festival‘s team sent us the multitrack live straight from the mixing desk recording of our 40 minutes last edition set and we put our hands on it, using nothing but what is called “in the box” mixing and mastering: it was a fun trip through the realms of sound engineering, an art that is living its own life, indipendent from everything and available for few chosen ones…
The result is this?old school style,?groove minded?and?song servant sound that you are going to find lovely, catchy and rounding as you love, the sound you are suited to, but with some sparkles here and there going to make you say: “wait?! what was that? Gimme more…”
And we are going to give you more for the upcoming months: we are releasing this album in a different way…you are going to get the singles. The single tracks we are excited to share, but with enough time between one and the other to let you enjoy the best, the details and the shades of every-single-song.
Here we go, then, with our first round of this magic ride called “Living A-Live” (you think about this album title meaning): “Shake Your Hips” by our beloved James “Slim Harpo” Moore, ready to please your ears and souls.
Enjoy the first track from “Living A-Live” and come back for more in one month! – RG.
After the new team-up with Flavio, Cocco and Federico and working the music the old way and with the old school in the heart (performing live and trying to do better at every chance – working behind the scene with rehearsal and idea exchanging) – Riccardo Grosso Blues Band is now mixing a new live album.
It was multitrack recorded on July 2019 at Seravezza Blues Festivaland thanks to Giovanni Grasso and the guys of the team that we can’t thank enough – we had the recordings and sent the steams to Bill Roberts, an old school engineer from U.S.A who worked with some top names and mastered “21.12 – live at Teatro Del Pane”.
“Why another live album?”, you may ask.
“I feel like it’s needed to comunicate what we are now, who these musicians are and what it means in matter of overall sound. The material was good and reflect a honest performance of what we were becoming and it captures us live, without any filter and it says…’ok, from now that’s what it’s coming’…” answers Riccardo.
Riccardo Grosso Blues Band will be the headliner on Saturday April 18th, 2020 at the 6th Austrian Bluesharp Meeting organizied by Reynhard H. Boegl – wonderful harmonica player and teacher from Austria – and sponsored by Seydel Harmonicas.
The other two acts are just wonderful: Reynhard H. Boegl in his solo act and J.J. Appleton who published two album with Jason Ricci and for this event he will be playing with our friend Manlio Milazzi on harmonica, it’s gonna be fun.
Warsaw was really cool and the feedback from that event still going…check the video realized by Michal Pierzchlewski of our version of “Up The Line” a classic written by Willie Dixon for Little Walter.
We think you can feel we had a hell of a good time!
