This pandemic won’t leave us alone and we are hoping you are staying safe and healthy. Remeber to wear the mask and to be smart, because if you don’t you are not going to get any live music anytime soon!
To shoote your souls and live music needs we are showing you our take on the marvellous tune written back in 1972 – ten years before Riccardo would born – by Robben Ford (guitar), Mark Ford (harmonica), Patrick Ford (drums) and Stanley Poplin (bass) – titled Gibson Creek Shuffle.
We put our hands on it, written some arrangment and played as ballsy as we could, live, on stage. We were really lucky to have a marvellous team shooting this live and we really hope you dig it.
We aim to be back in April, in Austria. We will see if that’s gonna happen.
“She’s Tuff” has been a personal Riccardo’s favourite since he listened to the tune played by The Fabulous Thunderbirds in their “Portfolio” greatest hits album.
That laugh at the end of the verse caught him and made him think “How cool do you have to be, to write a song with some laughing in it?” and after some research he found out it was a Jerry “Boogie” McCain’s song.
A laid back groove, but still biting and hitting you, with wonderful lyrics about the best woman you can meet (after all she’s so tough to stop a World War) is Blues as it gets and on stage it happens often that the band streches the song to get the audience in or kicking some dynamics on this song (check Riccardo Grosso Blues Band live video concert in Warsaw to see this happening…).
So here we are with the third song of the “Livin A-Live” album: “She’s Tough” as the original title spells or “She’s Tuff” you like it better…
