STORY

Some artists talk about playing blues. Riccardo Grosso has spent the last decade proving it — on stages across twelve European countries, from club floors in the Netherlands to festival headlining slots in Spain.

Origins

Born in Conegliano, Italy, Riccardo discovered the harmonica at sixteen. He taught himself by listening to the greats — James Cotton, Little Walter, Sonny Boy Williamson II — yet always looked beyond imitation.

“Blues is my foundation. But I don’t want to be the next copycat. My goal is to deliver the missing soundtrack of your life — and mine.”

— Riccardo Grosso

His influences stretch far beyond the blues. He draws inspiration from Muddy Waters and Tom Waits, The Clash and the swamp sounds, as well as Junior Wells and Henry Mancini. Each represents the same spirit of truth and emotion that fuels Grosso’s art.

The Birth of the Band

That vision gave life to the Riccardo Grosso Band — a group that reshapes the blues into something bold, relevant, and alive. A dynamic ensemble built around a sound that is gritty, emotional, and deeply human.

Their performances blend groove, tension, and soul. As Bill Hicks once said: “You’ve got to play it from your f*****g heart.” That philosophy drives every note they play.

Power and Presence on Stage

Their live shows are electric and unpredictable — true storytelling in motion. Each concert bursts with energy, interaction, and emotion, drawing audiences into a powerful journey through soul, blues, and beyond.

A tight, powerful band with a solid groove at its core — they have performed in clubs and at major European festivals from Scandinavia to the Balkans.

What They Said

In a genre where credibility is everything, the endorsements that matter most come from the people who built it.

“Riccardo must be considered definitely a pro… he scared ME.”

Adam Gussow

“That’s Tremendous! I hope to be in the same show so I can listen to you live.”

Charlie Musselwhite

“His harmonica varies from soulful soft tones to pile driving fever pitch, and comes straight from the heart.”

Dale Spalding — Canned Heat

“Grosso never copies riffs on his harp but rather builds and expands on the Masters who came before him.”

Rob Paparozzi — Original Blues Brothers Band
