STORY
A Visionary Force in Modern Blues
Described as “tremendous,” “authentic,” and “a force to be reckoned with,” Riccardo Grosso stands among the most visionary harmonica players and singers to emerge from Italy’s blues scene. A SEYDEL endorser praised by artists such as Charlie Musselwhite and Rob Paparozzi, Grosso has built his reputation on passion, depth, and honesty. His goal is simple — to create music that moves both body and soul.
Roots and Inspiration
Born in Conegliano, Italy, Riccardo discovered the harmonica at sixteen. He taught himself by listening to the greats — James Cotton, Little Walter, and Sonny Boy Williamson II — yet always looked beyond imitation.
“Blues is my foundation,” he says. “But I don’t want to be the next copycat. My goal is to deliver the missing soundtrack of your life — and mine.”
His influences stretch far beyond the blues. He draws inspiration from Muddy Waters and Tom Waits, The Clash and the swamp sounds, as well as Junior Wells and Henry Mancini. Each represents the same spirit of truth and emotion that fuels Grosso’s art.

The Birth of the Band
That vision gave life to the Riccardo Grosso Band — a group that reshapes the blues into something bold, relevant, and alive. Alongside his long-time musical partner, guitarist Flavio Paludetti, Grosso has created a sound that is gritty, emotional, and deeply human.
Their performances blend groove, tension, and soul. As comedian Bill Hicks once said, “You’ve got to play it from your f*****g heart.” That philosophy drives every note they play.
Power and Presence on Stage
Their live shows are electric and unpredictable — true storytelling in motion. Each concert bursts with energy, interaction, and emotion, drawing audiences into a powerful journey through soul, blues, and beyond.
The rhythm section — Lorenzo Miatto on bass and Carmine Bloisi on drums — provides the solid groove behind the fire. Together, the band has performed in clubs and at major European festivals such as Bellinzona Blues Sessions and Chablues Festival.
Moreover, Riccardo Grosso has been invited to share the stage with The Original Blues Brothers Band and the legendary Canned Heat, cementing his place among Europe’s most respected live blues artists.
